After bariatric surgery I had a lot of things that crossed my mind : Now what? What vitamins should I take? What snacks should I eat? Am I going to enjoy eating the same way as I did before? How am I going to feel when someone eats something I like in front of me?

After a lot of research and a lot of trying, I decided to write this post so other bariatric patients can have my opinion and know where to start.

First of all, VITAMINS. The vitamins I recommend because of my own experience are Fusion Multivitamins (there are a lot of different flavors but my favorite was mixed berries. They were simply YUM! It felt like having a treat instead of a vitamin. I took this since day 1 post op. I had my blood work done almost two months after surgery and everything was GREAT, so yes... this do work.

The only thing I must say about this vitamins is that I ordered them twice. The first time they were 100% yummy, but the second time I could feel a little bit of an after taste, a little bit bitterish. Nothing I couldn´t handle, but def the first time it was better.

Still worth it since my blood work was great and that is the idea of a multivitamin. Especially in the first stages post op vitamins are so important. Make sure you choose a good one. Def advice this one!

Healthy snacks that I actually enjoy :)

I have a confession to make... I AM A SWEET TOOTH. So I needed a snack that was healthy and that also I was going to enjoy. My first recommendation is Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe Bars ... I simply love them. This is a must try! Good thing is that each bar has 21g of protein and this really helps to reach your protein goal (Especially the first months after surgery). A plus is that it has low sugar (less than 3g of sugar I started to eat this in my soft food stage since it is pretty soft.

There are two options available on Amazon. I will leave you both options here:

Salty Snacks

When it comes to healthy snacks I chose Quest Protein Chips. They are soooo goood! Every time I have friends over or I go to the movies, I make sure I have this with me. Perfect snack with high protein (19g), only 4g of net carbs and 1g of fiber (I guess fiber could be better). I had this on the solid stage of my post op diet.

Make sure that whenever you know someone is going to be eating something you really like, you have a high protein snack. If you are full, temptation is going to be easier to handle. Just make sure you don´t over eat. Nothing in excess is good.

I will be posting more snack options pretty soon. I still have a long journey ahead of me so there will be plenty of time to try new snacks, sweet and salty.

I hope my blog helps you :) Bariatric paths are not easy as everyone thinks (some people say it is the easy way out, but it´s definitely not). We are all here to help each other and continue in this new lifestyle journey, for a healthy us.

See you later my friends :)
